Description

Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA, Ipsen/Galderma) is a botulinum toxin type A complex (Clostridium botulinum-derived hemagglutinin complex) supplied as a lyophilised powder in 500-unit vials. It blocks presynaptic acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction, producing reversible muscle relaxation over 3–6 months. The 500-unit vial format is used for larger aesthetic workloads — full-face anti-wrinkle treatment, hyperhidrosis, masseter reduction, and trapezius slimming — and for combination medical/aesthetic treatment sessions.

Indication

Intended for professional aesthetic use within qualified clinical settings, administered by trained practitioners following manufacturer guidance.

Packaging

Supplied as a 500 unit vial of botulinum toxin type A in lyophilized form.

Protocol

Reconstitute with 2.5 mL of preservative-free 0.9% NaCl to yield 200 U/mL; swirl gently, do not shake. For aesthetic glabellar lines: 50 U total in 5 injections of 10 U each into corrugator (×4) and procerus (×1), using a 30G or 32G × 13 mm needle. For masseter reduction: 25–50 U per side deep intramuscular injection. For hyperhidrosis: 50–100 U per axilla via intradermal grid. Use within 4 hours of reconstitution; store reconstituted vial at 2–8°C.
