Description
Vita-D (200,000 IU) is a high-dose cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) injectable solution at 5 mg/mL (200,000 IU per 1 mL ampoule), formulated for intramuscular administration as a single-dose correction of vitamin D deficiency. Cholecalciferol is converted in the liver to 25-hydroxyvitamin D and subsequently to the active 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 in the kidneys, regulating calcium and phosphate homeostasis, supporting immune modulation, and influencing skin cell differentiation and proliferation. Indicated for correction of clinical or subclinical vitamin D deficiency.

Vitamin D solution, supplied as 0.5 mL × 10 single-dose vials per box.
Protocol
Administer 200,000 IU (1 mL) by deep intramuscular injection into the gluteus maximus or vastus lateralis using a 23G 38 mm needle; aspirate before injection. A single loading dose is given for confirmed deficiency; repeat at 12 weeks if serum 25(OH)D remains below 30 ng/mL. Monitor serum calcium and 25(OH)D at 12 and 24 weeks. Avoid concurrent high-dose oral vitamin D supplementation.
