Description

Botox 50 (onabotulinumtoxinA, Allergan/AbbVie) is the 50-unit vial of the world's most clinically studied botulinum toxin type A, with regulatory approvals spanning glabellar lines, lateral canthal lines, and forehead lines in aesthetic applications. The 50-unit format is commonly used for single-area or combination small-area aesthetic sessions, reducing wastage in practices where treating one or two regions per patient is the norm. Each unit of Botox is not interchangeable in dose with other botulinum products.

Indication

Intended for professional aesthetic use within qualified clinical settings, administered by trained practitioners following manufacturer guidance.

Packaging

Supplied per manufacturer specification as a botulinum toxin preparation vial.

Protocol

Reconstitute with 1.25 mL of preservative-free 0.9% NaCl to yield 4 U/0.1 mL, or 2.5 mL for 2 U/0.1 mL for more dilute techniques. For glabellar lines: 20 U total in 5 sites (4 U/0.1 mL each) using a 30G or 32G needle. For lateral canthal lines: 12 U per side in 3 injections. For forehead: 10–20 U in 4–6 sites. Inject intramuscularly with 30–33G needle; onset 3–5 days; duration 3–4 months. Use within 4 hours after reconstitution.
